Axel Börsch-Supan is member of the new French Economic Commission

Munich / Paris, May 29, 2020. Axel Börsch-Supan, Director of the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy, was appointed to the French “Commission of Experts for Great Economic Challenges” on May 29, 2020 by the French President Emmanuel Macron.

The 26-member commission is made up of renowned economists from France, Europe and the USA. In December 2020, the Commission will report to the president on three main topics: climate change, inequality and demographic change. Its aim is to make recommendations to address these three major challenges. Axel Börsch-Supan will lead the working group that offers advice on aging societies, healthcare reform and the challenges of migration.
