Helmut Farbmacher takes over chair as Professor of Applied Econometrics at TUM

The Max-Planck-Institute for Social Law and Social Policy (MPISOC) congratulates MEA researcher Helmut Farbmacher on his professorship at the Technical University of Munich. He took over as "Professor of Applied Econometrics" at the TUM School of Management in the Department of Economics and Politics on August 1, 2021.

Health Economist Farbmacher spent 10 years at the Munich Center for the Economics of Aging (MEA) as head of the research unit “Health Econometrics” and senior researcher. His main research interests are in the areas of "health and labor economics". In the future, the methodological focus will also expand towards data science and machine learning.

Farbmacher will remain affiliated with the MEA as a MEA Fellow after his move to TUM.
