Katharina Crepaz Receives Dissertation Award

The Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy congratulates Katharina Crepaz, PhD, for being awarded the "Friedwart Bruckhaus-Förderpreis" of the Hanns Martin Schleyer Foundation. Crepaz who is a scientist of the Max Planck Fellow-Group receives the prize for her article "Unabhängigkeitsbewegungen in der EU: Differenzierte Integration und ,Europa der Regionen' als Gegenmodell?", published in the book "Der Anfang vom Ende? Formen differenzierter Integration und ihre Konsequenzen". In this article Crepaz analyzes the need for reform within European Institutions against the background of a subsidiary political approach. Keynote speaker Rupert Scholz, former federal minister, commended Crepaz for her constructive approach, which provides important impulses for more regional self-government within the EU.
