Poverty: striking at the roots of the problem
The risk of poverty in old age has to be tackled at its roots. For this purpose, investing into apprenticeships and in-service training, as well as effectively integrating migrants, is better suited than reforming the pension scheme, Prof. Axel Börsch-Supan, Director of the Munich Center for the Economics of Aging (MEA) at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy, explains in a recent paper.
