The Dynamisation of the Retirement Age

The daily newspaper BILD reported on 24 January 2017 under the heading of “The 2:1 formula / the new pension formula” about a proposal which was brought forward by Prof. Axel Börsch-Supan already in 2007. The idea had been taken up by the OECD in 2011 as well as, only recently, by the Scientific Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The current media coverage relates to a statement that Börsch-Supan, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy, gave at a public hearing of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs on 23 January.
